Happy Birthday, Dear Sandwich!
It's been 250 years since John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich, brought you to life so that he could enjoy clean hands
at his gambling table. At least so claims The British Sandwich Association. But I believe them.
•asparagus •salt •sugar •Black Forest ham •1/4 cup sour cream •100 g blue cheese •1 tsp sweet paprika powder •2 tbsp. softened butter •one garlic clove •baguette
Cut off bottom fourth of asparagus.
Cook them for 3-4 minutes
with salt and sugar.
Don't discard the water! Save 1/4 cup.
Wrap some ham around the asparagus.
Combine softened butter with some minced garlic.
Cut the baguette in half lenghtwise.
Spread garlic butter over the baguette.
Roast at 180C for 15 minutes.
Until the ham is crispy.
Combine sour cream with asparagus
water and paprika powder.
Crumble the blue cheese.
Melt it in a skillet over low heat.
Add the cream mixture and bring to boil.
Top the sandwich with some sauce.
